Day 1 Paro – Thimphu
After your wonderful flight to the Paro International airport, our ASTER TOURS & TRAVEL representative will meet you at the reception and settled in a comfortable car. We will escort you to visit Paro Rinpong Dzong- administrative Centre of Paro district and monks. Ta dzong- museum housing collection of religious relics, art and craft, historical and religious scriptures.
Drive towards capital city of Thimphu, which is one hour drive from the Paro valley. overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 Thimphu sightseeing
After your beautiful breakfast, our representative will escort you to sightseeing that includes – National Memorial chorten- build in the memorial of third king and as a monument to the world peace. Continue to Kuenselphodrang ( buddha point) – it is located on the hill top of Kuenselphodrang which massive statue of Shakyamuni is there where buddha Dordenma is sited upon large meditation hall, It is one of the largest statue in the world. Then continue visiting 12th century Changangkha Temple.
After lunch, Visit traditional paper factory – the factory where traditional Bhutanese paper is produced. National library- housing collection of Bhutanese scriptures dating back at the 8th century and the replica of a medieval farm house at the Folk Heritage Museum. Continue visiting school for art and craft and Tashichhodzong- house of minister, His Majesty, senior official and central monk body. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 Thimphu – Gangtey
After your beautiful breakfast, you will drive to Phobjikha Valley( 6 hours) via Dochula- pass( 3100 meters) which on a clear day offers an incredible view of Himalaya peaks before descending to Wangduephodrang valley. You may find vast rhododendron forest along the road while passing through it.
Continue driving via Wangdue Phodrang, driving uphill the pass through pine trees and oak tree and descending to the winter home of Black Necked Crane, Phobjikha valley. The valley is one of the beautiful wetland in Bhutan. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 Gangtey Sightseeing
After your breakfast, enjoy your day hiking to Longtey ( 45minutes drive from the valley and hike) – get reverse hike to Gangtey monastery( 2.5 hours) through rhododendron and other spices of flower. You may see yak herder and yak along the way. Visit Gangtey monastery – dated back to the 16th century. Nature trial hike – easy and gentle hike along the roosting place black necked crane centre. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 Gangtey – Punakha
After your beautiful breakfast, Visit the Black Necked Crane information center- keeps record or information about the crane and the valley. drive to Punakha, after your arrival to Punakha , Visit Punakha dzong- “Palace of Happiness” built in 1637 by the Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. It is situated in the confluence of Pho chu and Mo chu river( Male and Female river). Visit to suspension – longest suspension bridge at Punakha Valley. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 Punakha – Paro
After your beautiful breakfast, Visit Chimi Lhakhang – Fertility temple, couple who is childless go to this temple for get blessing. Drive to Paro Valley via Dochula pass, stop for a while for snap photo or tea/coffee. Continue driving to paro, on arrival, Visit Kyichu Lhakhang- oldest temple in the country dated back at 8th century. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 Paro Sightseeing
After your breakfast, begin your day hiking to Taktsang monastery( Tiger nest)-it is approximately 2 hours hike up hill from the base. Monastery is built on a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the valley floor is a spectacular sites. It is important pilgrim sites for the Buddhist. It is said that Guru Rinpoche flown on a back of tigress when he bought the Buddhism teaching to Bhutan in the 8th century.
After your lunch, visit to the 17th century Drukgyel dzong, an historic monument built by the Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel during the invasion of Tibetan. While coming back to the hotel, make a stop on the way and see the view of Jomolhari mountain. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 Departure
